Here at Prestige Disposal, we understand that waste collection is a service you rely upon, and it’s our mission to keep your home or business clean, safe, and hygienic 365 days a year. That being said, even the most hardworking teams need a short break to spend quality time with their families and recharge. For this reason, there are only two days in the entire year when our fleet of garbage collection trucks will not be out on the roads: Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
The Only Exceptions: Thanksgiving & Christmas
As we honor the importance of togetherness and the spirit of the holiday season, we pause our services on Thanksgiving and Christmas. These are special days that we believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy with their families and loved ones. On these days, our dedicated staff members are off-duty, and no waste collection services are scheduled. But don’t worry! We’ve got plans to make up for it.
Our “Double-Up” or Push-Back Policy
Recognizing that waste doesn’t take a holiday, we’ve instituted a flexible “Double-Up” or Push-Back Policy during the weeks that contain Thanksgiving and Christmas. Here’s how it works:
Double-Up Collections: On occasions, we may opt to “double up” on collections by servicing two days’ worth of routes in a single day. This could mean that if your regular garbage collection day falls on or after a holiday, your waste may be collected on the next day along with another route.
Push-Back Collections: Alternatively, we might choose to simply push back all collection routes by one day following the holiday. For instance, if your regular collection day is on a Wednesday and the holiday falls on a Tuesday, your collection would be shifted to Thursday that week.
Stay in the Loop: Communication is Key
We promise to notify you well in advance of our holiday schedule adjustments. Our aim is to make this process as seamless and as convenient for you as possible. Notifications regarding our holiday schedule and any “Double-Up” or Push-Back changes will be communicated through:
- Text Messages: Directly to your mobile phone, for immediate attention.
- Emails: To the email address you provided during your subscription for a more detailed explanation.
- Facebook Page: Regular updates and announcements will be posted, offering another way to stay informed.
The method we choose for making up the holiday collections—whether “double-up” or push-back—will be decided based on several factors like staffing availability, weather conditions, and other logistical considerations.
